Taper :)

My race is only 2 weeks away, 17 days, and I am starting to freak out!!!

My workouts have started to taper off, my body is actually trying to recover. I guess I am ready, I have put in the time, I have put in the effort, I have sacrificed a lot.

I was looking at my training log and found myself almost sick about what I have accomplished since Jan 1, 2007:

YEAR TOTALS
Running: 388.0 miles
Time: 2 days, 10h 56m 12s
Avg. Pace: 9:05/mile

Cycling: 1893.3 miles
Time: 4 days, 10h 03m 23s
Avg. Pace: 3:22/mile

Swimming: 48.3 miles
Time: 1 day, 3h 59m 50s
Avg. Pace: 34:46/mile

8 days in 6 months of working out, that does not include travel time to and from workouts and races that have been all over the state of Texas, from rides in Kerrville, to races in Galveston, to dropping Cale at my Dad's in Marshall to ride in Longview, to getting Amber to watch Cale to get in a 15 mile run at the Lake.

It will all be worth it when JP and Cale see 'mom' crossing the finish line at Ironman. "You are an Ironman" the announcer will say, and even though I have heard those words before, each time is special.

I love the photo. It should have been in the Advocate with your quotes.
