Memorial Day!

We took our annual trip to Mern and P's (Katie's folks) to Georgetown. For the past 3 years we have been going down to get in some training, some good food, and a race on Memorial Day in downtown Austin.

Sat:

100 Mile Ride
18 Holes of golf (and some Margaritas!)
Always great food, eating on the patio...

Sun:

65 Mile Ride, 1.2 Mile Run
Packet pick up and Bike drop off for the race

Mon:

Race Day: NOT, too much rain!

We picked up our bikes and headed back to Mern and P's for brunch! Thanks Mern, P, JP and Cale for coming down to the underwater race site with us!

All in all a great training weekend with good friends and great food!!

May 25, 2007

Little man is becoming very opinionated these days and it seems that if JP leaves the room the world has come to an end! Cale is getting his molars finally and it looks like a very painful process. His favorite game these days is chase (be chased, chase the dogs, chase us, chase toys), as long as he is running he is happy!

IM training update this week:

Last Saturday I had a 3 hour run on my schedule, but wanted to run the Heartbeat 5K with the 'crew', so I started at WR and ran around and then up the trail to the race. I had finished 15 miles when I got to the start line, thank goodness I was running with friends (who are awsome!) otherwise I don't know that I could have done it (Finish time 29:13 in 6th place AG!).

Mon: bike 25mi, run 1mi
Tues: run 4mi, swim 3000yds
Wed: bike 25mi, run 1.8mi
Thurs: run 4.5mi, swim 2700yds
Fri: run 4.25mi

Race on Monday, Capital of TX Olympic Distance Triathlon!

THE NEW BEGINNING...

Well, I was keeping a blog on Yahoo 360 but have decided to move it to Blog spot due to peer pressure. We will see how it goes. I am sure it will not be as thorough as some but yet still might give you a glimpse into the chaos that is the Team O life!

May 15, 2007 2nd Entry!

Mrs. Juanita, this is the woman who takes care of Cale, has since he was 8 weeks old. She amazes me, at her age she keeps 4 to 5 0-2 year olds at a time. She loves on Cale, Cale loves her. She will always be Nana to him. We have made the tough decision to move Cale to a local day care center at a church about a mile from our house. We think he is ready for some development activity and more structure. We would recommend Mrs. Juanita to anyone, we will miss seeing her each day.

JP has been out of town for work, Cale's uncle Chris has been teaching him how to play drums! Luckly the drums stay at Uncle Chris' house. Cale can keep a beat, must come from his dad!

On the workout front, we are ramping up to peak ironman training and I feel like I might just crack, or need some crack to continue.

Last week summary:

Monday: ride 25 mi;
Tues: run 5.3 mi;
Wed: ride 23.3 mi and swim 3000 yds;
Thurs: tempo run 5.34 mi (28 min tempo, thought I was going to die -- avg hr 166);
Friday: ride 25 mi/run 3.5 mi brick;
Sat: run 18.4 mi (2:48)

The madness has started, hope I can hang on :)

Cale's first real hair cut!

Cale had his first real hair cut on April 14th! Dad did not want it cut but Mom over-ruled and we took him to Cool Kuts for Kids for a trim. He did not cry, but did stick out the bottom lip. I think the cut has made him look like such a little man :)
