Fighting about food

As much as Cale loves to play in his play kitchen, every day is a battle about food with him. He just doesn't eat, no matter how hard we try. Today he told me that he wanted mac and cheese for lunch. He then proceeded to take one bit (actually JP fed one bite to him) and then did not want any more. It took him an hour to eat 4 apple slices. He had not had any other food all day. We were so mad that we put him in his room to take a nap directly from the table. He then pitched a fit for some juice, which we denied. It is now 4:30pm and he still has not eaten anything but a couple of apple slices today. Everyday is like this, such a struggle...

Cari I will say a prayer for you guys. We have mealtime struggles too and it can ruin dinner for everyone. I hate how it stresses me out. Added to that I worry that Katherine is not gaining enough weight. You can't control if a kid eats and that is so frustrating.

Oh - so sorry to hear that food continues to be a struggle for Cale! Jack's new thing is shoving about 4 bites of food into one mouthful in order to be done and go play, so then he's gagging and regurgitating into his hand. Eew! Gross! Slow down Buddy! Although most of the time we're just saying, "take a bite. stop playing and take a bite. hurry up. take a bite." :)
